Julia Tolo

Julia Tolo is a poet and translator from Oslo. She holds an MFA from Queens College, City University of New York. Tolo’s publications include the translation of Paal-Helge Haugen’s pointillist novel Anne from the Norwegian (Hanging Loose Press, 2019), as well as the chapbooks The Day with Jenni Wu (Bottlecap Press, 2022), and mother/cake (Ghostbird Press, 2021).

Tolo brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit development. Before joining the Academy, she oversaw institutional giving at Powerhouse Arts. She has also held positions at MacDowell, the National Theatre of Norway, Deichman/the Oslo Public Library, PEN America, and McNally Jackson Books.
